City of Sturgis leaders and residents alike turned out at Harley Davidson Rally Point Plaza June 10 to honor the late Mayor and city councilor Kevin Forrester. Meade County Executive Director Rhea Crane served as emcee and Ward 2 councilor Tony Dargatz, Meade County Commission chairman Gary Deering, new Mayor Rod Bradley said Greater Sturgis Foundation President Brett Lynass all talked of Forrester’s leadership on Black Hills Trails as well as years working for Meade County and then city leadership.
Dargatz read a proclamation drafted in March when he was mayor pro tempore that declared June 10 Kevin Forrester Day.
First, Rhea Crane served as emcee for the ceremony. Then Ward 2 councilor Tony Dargatz read the proclamation of Kevin Forrester Day Meade County Commission Chairman Gary Deering spoke next, followed by Brett Lynass of the Greater Sturgis Foundation. Finally Mayor Rod Bradley remembered his friend Kevin Forrester.
