We are less than two weeks from our annual History Days event. This year’s theme is “The History of Schools in Meade County.” It is part of an ongoing research project on all the schools, country and town, in Meade County. There will be a couple of days full of booths, programming and country school tours. Please check out the link and schedule below.

Friday, June 12, 2026
5:00 pm – Event Booths Open – Gymnasium, Sturgis Community Center
6:30 pm – Round Table Discussion: “Memories of Education in Meade County” – Meade Room, Sturgis Community Center

Saturday, June 13, 2026
9:00 am – Booths Open – Gymnasium, Sturgis Community Center
10:30 am – First Speaker, Betsey DeLoache: “Country Schools: Past and Present – Meade County” – Theater, Sturgis Community Center
11:25 am – Presentation of Friend of History Award – Theater, Sturgis Community Center
11:30 am – Second Presentation, Jim Holland & Mark Rambow: “A Timeline of Sturgis School” – Theater, Sturgis Community Center
12:30 pm – Boxed Meals Available – Meade Room, Sturgis Community Center
