STURGIS —Ricky Miller is a local man who is disabled with special needs, and has been selected to join others with disabilities and take a once in a lifetime adventure.

He has the money for the trip and just needed airfare.

Enter Patty Kennedy and others who organized a bingo fundraiser at the Iron Horse Saloon June 27.

The fundraiser included and a baked goods auction. When it was all said and done $764 had been raised.

Patty Kennedy had nothing but praise for this individual.

“He helps out at Music On Main no matter if it’s rain or shine and the other day I was at Heritage Acres and a woman had health issues and he helped get her into the car. This man will give you the shirt off his back,” she said.

She added people in this community love to play bingo and there are others out there needing help so she would like to do something for them as well.

Ricky has worked at KickStart Travel Center for over eight years. He’s always been in Special Olympics and has lots of medals to show for his accomplishments.
