STURGIS—The annual Lions Club Fishing Derby was a little hot but around 90 people showed up to try their hand at catching some fish.
Participants were given t-shirts and provided with poles and then gave it a try. Lions Club President Jennifer Ness says the improvements at the pond helped out.
“The city and Game Fish and Parks worked together to make some improvements to the pond on the South shore, three piers and lined the shore in rocks,” she said.
