STURGIS—Sturgis Audio at 1505 Lazelle held a ribbon cutting July 16th. The Sturgis Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau assisted.
Justin Davis is the owner and has been at the current location since November 2025.
“This month it’s been 20 years that I’ve been serving the Blsck Hills and have been at several locations, even worked for a motorcycle audio company for a bit, so yeah,” he said.
The industry has changed so much over time (I still have cassettes in my closet) and these days cars have either Apple or Android systems so they do a lot of integrations but they keep the factory settings and pieces.
Realistically though the days of AM/FM cassette players are long gone but Justin and crew can put together a system that resembles a cassette player but has Bluetooth and similar features.
However, if one is so inclined they could have a modern system and still hook up an old school cassette player if they want.
Sturgis Audio has three employees and is open Monday through Friday 8am to 5 pm.
