STURGIS— The Sturgis City Council approved an agreement with the Meade 46-1 school district for a school resource officer. Director of Public Safety Geody Vandewater laid it all out.
“This is a renewal agreement with the district. The officer will split the time between Sturgis Brown and the elementary and middle schools,” said Vandewater. The cost is $125,709.42 and will be split between the city and the school district.
Ward 2 councilor Tony Dargatz made the motion to approve the agreement and Ward 3 councilor Mark Chaplin seconded it. The motion passed unanimously.
