STURGIS — The Meade 46-1 school board made quick work of the agenda, including custodial contracts, teacher contracts and publishing a preliminary budget.
The board amended contracts with Harlows, removing routes R9 and R13 from their operation and amending the contract with Dakota Bus Company, giving them the routes once used by Harlows.
The board also amended the contract with Loose Ends Custodial for Sturgis Elementary and approved the contract with 605 Ultimate Cleaners for Sturgis Elementary.
Then they approved the contract with Clearite Custodial for Sturgis Brown High School. Business Manager Brett Burditt told the board they were having trouble finding a custodial company. But Clearite will work for the 2026-2027 school year.
Finally the board approved the contract with the Meade County Sheriff’s Office for School Resource Officer service at Piedmont Valley Elementary School and Stagebarn Middle school.
