STURGIS— The annual Fall Festival kicked off the afternoon of October 10th and it’s a full blown good time for all ages!
Food trucks, about 20 vendors, hay rides and a new activity, pony rides in a cart or in a saddle. Put on by the Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau,it keeps growing, which is exactly what Executive Director Veronica Grosek wants.
“One new thing is a jack-o-lantern show and shine, and we invited kids and adults to bring them down to the stage here and tonight we’ll put glow sticks inside to light them up,” she said.
As for choosing the potato as the feature vegetable it was a team decision by Chamber staff. The Restaurant Showdown pitted ten different eateries, bars and restaurants to see who get make the best spud dish.
Tonight at 6 pm is the pub crawl and teams can register at the beer tent.
“We started this seven years ago and it was small and people just live to get together and it’s been growing ever since,” said Grosek.
