By Brandon Bennett STURGIS—The special guest at today’s law enforcement briefing was Harley Davidson CEO Artie Starr. He was in town to participate in the Military Appreciation Day celebration at Harley Davidson Rally Point Plaza August 11th. “We are proud to have a history with the active, reserve military members and first responders who support our brand. When I go into dealerships I meet veterans all the time,” said Starrs. He added the company is proud to partner with the city of Sturgis for our military and first responders day. There’s a pancake feed for military and first responders from 9 am to 4 pm followed by a B-1 flyover. The ceremony will start at 1 pm and end at 3 pm. Why are veterans and first responders so important to Starr? “The brand has been intimately connected to the military for 123 year and so it’s in our DNA. One of the things we consistently see is former military who become riders,” he said.
