Music On Main featured the Sturgis Volunteer Fire Department and their Rosenbauer Fire trucks.
Firefighters showed everyone the gear and then let the kids try their hand with hoses to knock rubber balls around. Firefighter Reed Beldin and assistant fire chief Cory Nelson laid it all out.
“We’re giving kids the opportunity to mingle with us and we set up some games for little kids and older kids by shooting water out of our hoses like we do at a fire scene,” said Beldin. Nelson said it’s hoped that even youngsters think of becoming a firefighter. “Hopefully they do. A lot of people don’t know we’re all volunteers,” he said.
